Languedoc Holidays

Our Languedoc villa, apartment and Château holiday rentals offer a range of excellent holiday opportunities in the Mediterranean area of the Western Herault. The towns of Beziers and Pezenas are central to the area, and the rental property we select are based in or near to villages that offer restaurants, shops and bars as well as local fetes and events that will help make your stay enjoyable.

From the tranquil to the active the area of the Western Herault provides it. And within an hour are the Pyrenees mountains, the city of Carcassone, the modern facilities of Montpellier. Pezenas provides a unique charm based on the French equivalent of Shakespeare, ie Moliere. With its cobbled streets, quaint shops, a thriving Saturday market it can be a busy place and restaurants abound. Beziers can be more French and certainly Occitan, geared to be very much a working town with a lovely flower market on Fridays, good local shops and restaurants in the Allees and enormous market for clothes in the Champs de Mars of the Avenue Jean Moulin. There are excellent views from the plateau in front of the Cathedral of the Orb river valley and the old bridge dating from the Middle Ages. The church of the Madelaine and the square next to it are of historic Cathar interest, although not a happy memory for some.

There are good markets for almost every day of the week including Sundays, and we will be happy to provide this information to our rental clients.

For beaches, the Languedoc Holiday is hard to beat. It has mainly long sandy beaches, interspersed with lagoons, where the pink flamingos feed. From the beaches in the early morning, the Mountains of the Pyrenees and the Spanish coastline are visible. Most are public beaches but there are also some private beaches, where a sunbed and parasol can be hired for a full or half day for less than 20 Euros, giving you access to restaurants and usually shower and toilet facilities on the beach itself.

For those with activity in mind there is of course many sea fishing, cycle hire, golf, tennis, boat hire at sea or on the Canal du Midi, which crosses the region and many others. These including horseriding, windsurfing, hunting and fishing in season, climbing, deep sea diving schools, walking, bathing in rock pools, lakes and rivers and none of these are in the organised sports activities. All most every village has a Stade with football and rugby facilities, tennis courts and organised events for children and teenagers in the summer holidays, and of course every village has its petanque or boules area, popular with young and old alike.

Food of course is an integral part of a Languedoc Holiday and the region boasts many excellent restaurants, and perhaps one or two not so good. We have some excellent chefs as reflected in the Michelin star restaurants and some excellent local cuisine. Which gives us a unique in-site into what a rental holiday in our part of the Languedoc means for clients. Please do not be offended if we refuse to take your property for rental but we aim to provide good value rental homes for clients in our region, which may involve too much expense for certain types of property.
